SLIS Faculty Member Debra Gearhart Elected as ICRM President
MULLIKEN, Mich. -- The Institute of Certified Records Managers (ICRM), an international certifying body for Records and Information Management Professionals, has posted their recent election results naming Debra Gearhart, CRM as the new President-Elect.
Debra Gearhart, CRM, FAI has been employed by the Dept. of History, Arts & Libraries, Records Management Services for 35 years. She also teaches Records and Information Management courses at Lansing Community College and Wayne State University School of Library and Information Science.
As a 26 year member of ARMA International, she received the prestigious Company of Fellows award in 1993. She received her Certified Records Manager (CRM) designation in July, 1988 and is currently serving as a Senior Board Advisor to the Institute of Certified Records Managers (ICRM). She served as Regent for Exam Development on the ICRM from 2004 - 2008. While Regent for Exam Development she has led many improvement projects including a new outline, a new preparatory handbook, electronic testing and an online test bank.
Debra and her family have lived in Mulliken, Michigan for the past 30 years.

The Institute of Certified Records Managers (ICRM) is an international certifying organization of and for professional records and information managers. The ICRM was incorporated in 1975 to meet the requirement to have a standard by which persons involved in records and information management could be measured, accredited and recognized according to criteria of experience and capability established by their peers. The ICRM is an independent non-profit organization administered by a Board of Regents. The ICRM serves as the official certifying body for both ARMA International and the Nuclear Information and Records Management Association (NIRMA).
