Meet Jodi Bollaert – New Adjunct Faculty Member Teaching Human-Computer Interaction
This fall, SIS welcomes Jodi Bollaert as an adjunct faculty member. Jodi is teaching INF 7940: Human-Computer Interaction (CRN 17377) while Dr. Zhang is on sabbatical.
Jodi has been focused on helping companies design customer experiences that people love for nearly 20 years. She has held positions such as information architect, usability specialist, strategist, user experience (UX) designer, and most recently, as UX researcher focused on future vehicles at General Motors. In every capacity, her focus has been on bringing users (humans) into the design/development process.
In 2013, Jodi founded Detroit UX, a 1,200-member Meetup group dedicated to helping UX professionals (and those interested in the field) make connections and learn about the many varied facets of UX. Jodi has also led workshops in subjects like UX research, Human-Centered Design, Prototyping and Storytelling.
She earned a Master of Education degree in Instructional Technology at Wayne State University and a Bachelor of Arts degree in English from Michigan State University. When she's not focused on work, she enjoys spending time with family, walking her dog (Lulu) and teaching others how to play ukulele.
There is still time to join her class for the fall – registration is open through August 28.
