SIS Tech Support

Technology is a crucial component of each SIS class. In order for SIS students to be successful, they must have daily access to a computer and the Internet throughout their time in the program. All incoming students must meet the School's computer competencies, as well as its minimum computer hardware and software requirements before the first day of class. 

The SIS Tech Help Desk is staffed by student tech assistants who are ready to help with online lectures, connecting to SIS servers, downloading and installing software from Microsoft Imagine, scheduling time in the Digital Media Projects Lab (DMPL), and any other SIS-related tech questions. Questions regarding Blackboard, Academica, and Wayne State Webmail should be directed to the C&IT Help Desk. In-person tech support and/or DMPL access require an appointment be made in advance.

Currently enrolled students in the School of Information Sciences are eligble for free software for use toward the completion of the MLIS and Graduate Certificates.

Microsoft Imagine Academic Software Center (formerly called Microsoft DreamSpark) - Windows OS, Visio, Expression Studio, and other Microsoft software.
