Student Services & Support

There has been no interruption in monitoring the school email account (asksis@wayne.edu) and phone line (313-577-1825) - both are still available for students to contact us. Voicemail messages will be checked and calls returned within 24 hours. All SIS staff are available to assist with any issues that may arise in regard to admission, registration and academic progress.

SIS Tech will continue operating during their regular hours. Please refer to the SIS Tech calendar for their complete schedule: https://library.wayne.edu/info/calendar/sis. At this time, the best way to receive support is via email - sistech@wayne.edu.

  • Continue the mission of the university.
  • Learn and adapt based on our experiences so far.

Recent updates

Continue to monitor your email and Warrior Safe is Warrior Strong for the latest information. Please familiarize yourself with all essential guidelines before visiting campus to ensure your safety and that of your classmates, professors and friends.

Updates from the Wayne State University Library System

The UGL, Law and Shiffman libraries are open with limited physical access to Wayne State students, faculty and staff. Reuther is open for appointment via reutherreferrence@wayne.edu and Purdy/Kresge will remain closed to the public.

Important reminders for those coming to campus to use a library:

To support the university's safety protocols that minimize physical campus use, we are encouraging the Wayne State community to continue to use our remote services but we will offer limited physical access, particularly for those who need to access technology to complete their virtual classes and coursework.

Based on our work with facilities, all buildings will offer reduced capacities and will be minimally staffed, providing limited onsite services including computer use, individual study space, material pickup paged from the collections and, when necessary, battery checkout for personal devices. University libraries and computer labs will implement new processes for cleaning of spaces and equipment, as well as new guidelines to facilitate social distancing.

Students, faculty or staff that wish to physically access the libraries will be required to make a reservation via the LibCal Seats app, which is currently in development. As soon as a link is available, we will share it with the list. More information about what the Seats app can do is available here.

The libraries are accepting returns of library materials. More info: How to return library, ILL, and MeLCat items
