Admission Requirements and Considerations
Applicants to the joint Master of Library and Information Science and MA in History (MLIS/MA) and Master of Library and Information Science and MA in Public History (MLIS/MAPH) programs must be admitted to both the School of Information Sciences and the Department of History.
Admission to this program is contingent upon admission to the Graduate School.
- Students who want to apply to the MLIS program first should follow the School of Information Sciences admissions procedures. After they are accepted and have begun their first semester, they should follow the instructions found in the Department of History graduate handbook for applying to the MA and MAPH programs, and additionally submit a completed Change of Status form in the "additional materials" field of the online application.
- Students who want to apply to both programs at the same time should follow the instructions found in the Department of History graduate handbook for applying to the MA and MAPH programs, and additionally submit a completed Change of Status form in the "additional materials" field of the online application.
- Students who want to apply first to the MA or MAPH program should consult the Department of History graduate handbook for more details on how to apply to the MA and MAPH programs and prepare application materials. To add the MLIS, submit a completed Change of Status form to the DGS before or at the same time you submit your Plan of Work.
