Alumna Selected for ALA Emerging Leaders Program and LITA Sponsorship

Tara Lannen-Stanton, LibSci '09 alumna and current Graduate Certificate in Records and Information Management student, has been selected to participate in the American Library Association's (ALA) 2009 Emerging Leaders Program. Lannen-Stanton was also selected to receive a $1,000 stipend from the Library & Information Technology Association (LITA) to use toward the ALA 2010 Midwinter Meeting and the 2010 Annual Conference. As part of LITA's sponsorship, Lannen-Stanton will have the opportunity to work on projects and be mentored by the LITA leadership. The ALA Emerging Leaders Program is designed to enable newer librarians from across the country to network and problem solve with peers, gain insight about ALA and serve the profession in a leadership capacity. Currently, Lannen-Stanton is the WorldLinQ Coordinator at the Queens Library at Queens College in Flushing, NY.

Congratulations Tara!
