SLIS Alumnae Alexis Tharp (MLIS '13) and Andrea Perez (MLIS '05) will be co-presenting "Soul of a Public Library" at the Allied Media Conference on Saturday, June 17 at 2 p.m. in Detroit, Michigan.

Alexis and Andrea will present with fellow librarians Kristy Cooper and Katie Dover-Taylor, all of whom were employed by the Westland Public Library. The presentation will outline their struggle in a toxic work environment and their efforts to create positive change in their workplace and community despite overwhelming resistance by leadership. They will explain their termination from their jobs and provide updates on the current political and employment situation they face.
