Graduating this semester? Fall 2018 Graduation and ePortfolio Information

Students who intend to graduate during the fall 2018 semester must complete their Applications for Degree and/or Certificate no later than the 5th week of classes. The deadline for this semester is Friday, September 28, 2018.

The application process is completed through Academica under the student tab. For those applying for a degree and a certificate, an application must be completed for each.

Students who are pursuing the degree and a certificate concurrently may only have the degree listed on their student record and the system will only allow application for the degree. If the certificate does not appear, please contact Llauna Parker in the SIS Office at ab1790@wayne.edu in order for the certificate to be added to your record. In your email, please include your name and student ID number. Once the certificate program has been added to your record, you will need to apply for the certificate by completing the Application for Certificate through Academica.

Adding a separate certificate program does not apply to students who are pursuing school media endorsement. Students who are pursuing school library media endorsement should review the following information: http://sis.wayne.edu/school-library-media-specialist/responsibilities.php.

The eligibility criteria for graduation include:

  • an up-to-date Plan of Work
  • the completion of all courses indicated on the Plan of Work
  • the completion of the required number of credit hours
  • 3.00+ grade point average
  • completion of degree requirements by the six year deadline (or three year deadline for certificate only programs)
  • completion of the e-portfolio requirement
  • Official transcripts reflecting the degree will be available in late January. Diplomas will be mailed by the university 4-6 weeks after transcripts become available. Instructions on how to order transcripts are available at: https://wayne.edu/students/register/transcripts/

    ePortfolios

Students are required to submit an electronic portfolio as a requirement for graduation.

*** Note that starting Fall 2017, the e-portfolio requirement has been modified. Students need to write on three learning outcomes, two self identified, and one chosen by the school. ***

Please visit the following website for the Fall 2018 required learning outcomes:

Portfolios are due November 1, 2018.

    IIS Server Accounts

IIS server accounts created for students to use in conjunction with SIS technology courses will remain active for 1-year following graduation. After 1-year, the student's IIS server account will be automatically deactivated and all files will be removed from the system without notification. Students may bypass this 1-year deadline by requesting an account extension at any time within the post-graduation grace period. These requests should be directed to: sistech@wayne.edu
