What is Health Informatics?

So, what is Health Informatics? According to the American Medical Informatics Association (AMIA), informatics is the "science of how to use data, information and knowledge to improve human health and the delivery of healthcare services" (available from: http://www.amia.org/fact-sheets/what-informatics). According to Stephan P. Kudyba in his book "Healthcare Informatics: Improving Efficiency and Productivity" (2010), health informatics incorporates information technologies and information management to help enhance efficiency in the healthcare industry.
