Michigan Education Corps
Michigan Education Corps is looking for reading interventionists to help student become better readers. In Detroit, nine in 10 third graders struggles to read at grade level. You can make a difference by giving your time and talent to help students become successful readers and learners.
Interventionists serve kindergarten to third graders using one-on-one scripted interventions during school hours. No matter if you’re a current student or a recent grad, you can make a great tutor. No experience? No problem. Interventionists receive great training, so they are well equipped to help students grow.
Part- and full-time positions are available. Opportunities begin in January 2021.
Perks as an interventionist:
- Build your skills, network and resume
- Receive a stipend every two weeks
- Earn up to $4,336.50 for college tuition or federal student loans. Tutors 55 and older may gift the award to their child, grandchild, stepchild or foster child.
- Free health insurance and childcare assistance for those who qualify
- Federal student loan forbearance
