Half-Million Dollar Pledge to SIS Supports Urban Library Professionals

The School of Information Sciences would like to announce, with immense gratitude, that Wayne State University professor emeritus Robert P. Holley has pledged $500,000 dollars to the School and its mission. This gift will expand the Robert P. Holley Endowed Scholarship Fund and establish the Robert P. Holley Endowed Support Fund. The scholarship supports future urban library professionals in their education while the support fund provides funding for SIS activities centered around the School's mission and vision.

Dr. Holley has been a long-time supporter and advocate for the School, in addition to his role as faculty member. As Dr. Stephen Bajjaly, Associate Dean of the School of Information Sciences, said, "Throughout his career, Dr. Holley was committed to the School and, especially, to his students. We are extremely pleased and gratified that he has chosen to continue that commitment in perpetuity."
