Dr. Maria Gonzalez, Assistant Professor, received her PhD in April 2008 from the School of Information at University of Texas (UT), Austin. Dr. Gonzalez also holds an MLIS from UT and a bachelor's degree in Anthropology from UCLA. Prior to entering the LIS field, Dr. Gonzalez had a long, successful career in the construction industry. Dr. Gonzalez's teaching and research interests include public/urban libraries, preservation administration and cultural heritage policy. Dr. Scout Calvert, Assistant Professor, received her PhD in June 2008 from the University of California, Santa Cruz. Dr. Calvert also holds a master's degree in Information Resources and Library Science from the University of Arizona and a bachelor's degree in Gender Studies from the New College of California in San Francisco. Dr. Calvert has over 10 years of experience working in public and school libraries and continued to work as a part-time librarian during her doctoral program. Dr. Calvert's research interests include science and technology studies (STS) and feminist methodologies. Ms. Nancy Czech, Lecturer, is a December 2007 MLIS graduate of the LIS Program at Wayne State. Ms. Czech, a Winter 2008 adjunct faculty member, will continue her long association working closely with Professors Dr. John Heinrichs, Dr. Bin Li, and Ms. Jan Utz in the information management concentration.
