Sandra Svoboda (MLIS '17), SIS alumna and Special Assignments Manager for WDET 101.9 FM, has been leading a series of panel discussions entitled "Gimme Some Truth". Svoboda has been teaming up with public libraries throughout the metro Detroit area to host sessions aiming to uncover the real impact of misinformation. Svoboda has been inviting experts in areas such as library and information science, education, and social media to participate in panel discussions on topics related to fake news, fact-checking, online scams, and more.

The events will continue to happen throughout the summer and fall and will be at multiple locations including Livonia Public Library, Grosse Pointe Public Library, Southfield Public Library, and the Wayne State University School of Information Sciences. The SIS event will be held October 25 in the Bernath Auditorium in the Undergraduate Library on campus.
