SIS webinar "Make Your Collection Count" to happen November 6

Grab your lunch and log in at Noon (Eastern Time) on November 6 for "Make Your Collection Count!" Alumnae Holly Hibner (MLIS '99) and Mary Kelly (MLIS '02) are best known for their blog "Awful Library Books", but they're also on a mission to help libraries improve their collections through better analysis, workflows, and of course, weeding. This presentation discusses the overall quality of a library collection. This includes the benefits and methods of taking a physical inventory, analyzing collection procedures and workflows, and the life cycle of a collection. And, most importantly, learn how to measure a collection's quality. Their holistic approach to collection management will help all types and sizes of libraries to keep pace with the demands and expectations of their communities. They'll also share some of their favorite awful library books shared over the years at awfullibrarybooks.net.
