Two SLIS GSA Positions Open to New and Current Students for Winter 2013

The School has two Graduate Student Assistantship positions available for the Winter 2013 semester. Both new and current students are eligible to apply for these positions.

The Diversity Outreach Graduate Student Assistant will provide outreach and build and maintain relationships with undergraduate programs on campus and surrounding colleges about the value of graduate LIS studies at Wayne State University with a focus on historically-underrepresented populations. The Information Technology Graduate Student Assistant will a supervise student technology assistants, update SLIS websites, provide technical assistance to SLIS students, faculty, and staff, work with full time staff on computer and server maintenance, develop online instructional materials, and develop the SLIS online community through social media. GSAs work 20 hour per week and are provided with a salary, tuition scholarship, and subsidized medical and dental insurance. The tuition scholarship provides payment for up to ten graduate credits for each of the fall and winter semesters and up to two graduate credits for the spring/summer semester appointment.
