Visio 2010: Creating Entity-Relationship Diagrams

In this tutorial, Visio 2010 is used to construct Entity-Relationship Diagrams. It reviews all the basics for getting started and walks you through each step to creating a diagram as the basis for your database. The tutorial is broken into 3 clear parts for easy viewing:

  1. The first part of this tutorial provides you with an overview of Visio 2010. The addition of the Ribbon is explored and the Backstage view is described. The specific shapes explored in this video are the entitity-relationship shapes. The drawing board is explained.

  2. In the second part of the tutorial, adding entities, attributes, and relationships are highlighted.

  3. In the third part of the tutorial, unary relationships, basic formatting and designs, textboxes and adding new pages are discussed.
