We're in This Together: 2020 graduate documents oral histories of COVID-19
SIS student Betty Adams shares her archival administration practicum experience documenting oral histories of COVID-19 at Wayne State's Walter P. Reuther Library of Labor & Urban Affairs in the September/October 2020 issue of Archival Outlook, a publication of the Society of American Archivists.
"We wanted to preserve the voices and stories of those whom you might see walking down the street on an ordinary day, before everything became unordinary," Adams said in the article.
Although she won't officially graduate until December, Adams has already been hired as director of the Leanna Hicks Public Library in Inkster, Michigan. She also was named the 2020 Rising Star by the Michigan Library Association and was recognized at their annual conference in October.
