Greg McElhatton
Greg McElhatton is a Supervisory Copyright Specialist at the United States Copyright Office within the Library of Congress, where he managers a team of copyright examiners working in the Office of Registration Policy & Practice's Literary Division.
His team examines submitted novels, short stories, academic journals, newspapers, computer programs, and websites (among many other types of literary works) as part of the application process to have their copyright registered. These submissions also form the backbone for the Library of Congress's collection development program.
He also develops and teaches numerous internal training courses for the Literary Division. Before joining the Copyright Office, he spent 18 years as an instructional designer and reference librarian for a government contractor in the Washington DC area, designing and developing training for over a dozen different Federal agencies.
