Artisa Coleman: RUSL Fellow 2021

Artisa Coleman RUSL Fellow

My name is Artisa Coleman. I am an elective instructor at River Rouge STEM Academy. I have been an educator for 8 years and I absolutely LOVE having a role in helping young people be the best that they can be; especially when it comes to learning. Reading books is my hobby and reading always keeps me in touch with the latest things happening all around the world.

Through Project RUSL, I hope I can give back to the struggling libraries that currently exist in schools, by inspiring Urban Americans families and bridging the gaps that were once impossible for them to obtain.

It is my belief that I can give young scholars the chance to learn, create, dream, and explore again through books and other implementations of effective practices that will foster growth and positive change. Libraries, today, can alleviate some of the financial hardships within public education by advocating for these open-access initiatives.
