6.3 University Libraries and Media Services

University Libraries Course Reserves

Reserves can be used to make physical materials such as books and media available to students. Instructors can fill out a Reserves Request Form to specify the materials to be reserved and the library location to hold them. The length of time an item can circulate to a student is specified by the instructor and ranges from hours to a week.

Library Instruction and Information Literacy

The libraries offer custom class sessions, online learning modules, and course/assignment research guides. Please visit the Library Instruction page to learn more.

Liaison Librarians

Each program, department, or college at Wayne State is assigned a librarian liaison to work with faculty on their research and curriculum needs. In addition, the librarians can provide information on library resources and services, library instruction programs, and collection development. The liaison librarians have created online guides for each department with helpful resources and contact info for the liaison librarian for your program.

Open Access Support

WSU supports the use of open textbooks in all university courses. Open textbooks are instructional textbook publication in digital form, made freely available through a hot or online organization service. If you are interested in using an open textbook, your library liaison can help you locate resources.
