Career path: Children and youth services
Our children and youth services courses equip librarians with the specialized expertise required to serve young library users. We train and empower students to create collections, programs and services that both educate and entertain children of all ages.
Our classes, spanning collection development, technology, instructional methods, literacy and outreach, go beyond theory, giving you the skills and tools to remain at the forefront of trends in serving today's children and young adults.
Children and youth librarians play a pivotal role in inspiring and motivating young individuals, fostering a love for reading, introducing students to cutting-edge electronic resources, collaborating with educators, forging connections with community groups and designing captivating activities that nurture the creativity, interests and talents of young minds.
