2.8 Faculty Absences/Holding of Classes

Faculty members who accept assignments with the School of Information Sciences are expected to adhere to the schedules of the courses they teach. This means holding classes for all weeks of the term. It also means conducting classes for the complete period scheduled.

If a serious problem arises and the instructor cannot meet with the class, they are expected to inform the Associate Dean and together they will take appropriate action. If there is an emergency, and if there is insufficient time to plan for an absence, the SIS office is to be contacted so that the class may be canceled. These classes must be made up at times convenient to the students and within the parameters of the academic term.
