Certificate Graduation Assessment Preparation
Students who enter the School in Winter 2016 (January 2016) or after are required to submit a Certificate Graduation Assessment. The Certificate Graduation Assessment should include all the following items:
- A demonstrative essay
- Two major artifacts or assignments of high quality from two different certificate courses that demonstrates your competency in the learning outcomes of the certificate you have applied for
- A professional resume
- Completed survey in Canvas Certificate Graduation Assessment site
Note that you have to include all required items in order to pass the Certificate Graduation Assessment requirement.
In the demonstrative essay, students demonstrate their competency in the learning outcomes of the certificate they have applied for, analyze the contribution of included artifacts to the students' professional development and/or professional responsibilities of an information professional in the certificate area. An artifact in the context of the Certificate Graduation Assessment may refer to any sample work a student has completed in a certificate course since entering SIS. It can be in a variety of different formats, such as a paper, a web site, a database, etc. The sample artifacts students choose to include in the Certificate Graduation Assessment should be of the highest quality representing the learning outcomes of the certificate the student has applied for.
