SIS Information Listserv

The SISINF listserv is used to communicate important information to SIS students and other stakeholders. Upon acceptance, students are subscribed to the SISINF listserv. Others with an interest in SIS are encouraged to subscribe by following the instructions below.

To subscribe:

  • Send an e-mail message to LISTSERV@LISTS.WAYNE.EDU
  • Leave the subject line blank
  • Type subscribe sisinf with your firstname and your lastname into the body of the message
  • Send the e-mail
  • A follow-up welcome message will be sent to the e-mail address used when subscribing

    • To send a message to all members currently subscribed to the list, send an e-mail to SISINF@LISTS.WAYNE.EDU. Please note that this is a moderated list, and your message will be posted after it is approved.

    To unsubscribe from SISINF@LISTS.WAYNE.EDU:

  • Send an e-mail message to LISTSERV@LISTS.WAYNE.EDU from the e-mail address used when first subscribed
  • Leave the subject line blank
  • Type signoff sisinf into the body of the message

    Just for Students: Information Sciences Student Discussion List

    The SISSDISC discussion list is a place for students to talk freely and openly about any aspects of life as a Wayne State SIS student. No faculty or staff will subscribe to or monitor the listserv. The only official contact will be the verification of your student status using your Access ID.

    To subscribe:

  • Send an e-mail message from your Wayne e-mail account to LISTSERV@LISTS.WAYNE.EDU
  • This will allow for verification of your status as a SIS student. You can easily forward e-mail from your Wayne account to any other e-mail account. Subscription requests from non-Wayne e-mail accounts will be refused.
  • Leave the subject line blank
  • Type subscribe sissdisc with your firstname and your lastname into the body of the message


    • Once you are subscribed, send messages to the discussion group at sissdisc@lists.wayne.edu

    • SIS Jobs Listserv

    In Summer 2011 SIS launched a new listserv, SISJobs, to post the job announcements the School receives. The full email address for this list is SISJOBS@LISTS.WAYNE.EDU.

    To subscribe:

  • Send an e-mail message to LISTSERV@LISTS.WAYNE.EDU
  • Leave the subject line blank
  • Type subscribe sisjobs with your firstname and your lastname into the body of the message
  • Send the e-mail
  • A follow-up welcome message will be sent to the e-mail address used when subscribing

    • Posting to this list is restricted. To send a job posting to all members currently subscribed to the list, please send an e-mail to ASKSIS@WAYNE.EDU, and we will be happy to post your job to the listserv.
